Insurance Claims

At Easyway, we go to great lengths to ensure you never feel alone. We pride ourselves on our client advocacy, especially when you need to make an insurance claim.

To start your claim, call us as soon as it is safe to do so. Your broker can help answer any questions you have and help start your claim.

To prepare you in the event of an accident, download a copy our Accident Report Form. Keep a copy of the form and a pen in your glovebox at all times. Using this form will help remind you what information should be collected in the event of an incident.

Accidents are highly stressful situations and knowing what to do in the event of an accident can help protect you. If you are involved in an accident, follow these important steps:

  1. Call 9-1-1 for an ambulance if one is required
  2. Exchange information with all parties involved in the accident:
    • First & Last Names
    • Driver License Numbers
    • Insurance Company Names and Policy Numbers
    • Vehicle Make/ Model/ Year/ License Plate Number
    • Telephone Numbers
  3. Get names and telephone numbers of any independent witnesses to the accident
  4. If the property damage exceeds $1,000, you must report the accident to a Collision Reporting Centre
  5. You must call the police if:
    • Someone has been injured or killed in the accident
    • The accident resulted from a criminal activity (such as impaired driving)
    • If;
      • any driver involved has no insurance or is not licensed to drive
      • the accident involved a pedestrian or a person on a bicycle
      • any driver refuses to exchange information (i.e. driver license and insurance information).
  6. Take photos, if possible.

Don’t forget to call your Easyway Insurance Broker for advice when you need to proceed with a claim against your policy.
