Ontario's New Auto Insurance Program
On September 1, 2010 the Ontario government introduced a new insurance program designed to control rising claims costs and reduce premium increases for consumers.
However, many of the changes that were made have resulted in less protection for you under your policy if you're injured in a car accident.
Basic coverage under the new program contains reduced coverage for income replacement if you're no longer able to work, lower limits of medical rehabilitation coverage and on and on.
The good news is that you can increase coverage in these areas by adding optional coverages to your policy. It is critically important that you review the changes that have been made to ensure you understand what it means for your own personal situation.
